Mississippi Retro Apparel are wearable flashbacks from years gone by.

They are for the crowd that knew the bars, clubs, restaurants and music of the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. They are reminders of the best of times spent with family and friends at the best places, those places, back then.

Mississippi Memories

A cook in the Greek Navy, Bill Matheos migrated to the United States in 1968, after two previous unsuccessful attempts to jump ship. In Houston, he met a local girl, Judy, who helped him open Bill’s Burger House. After a decade of living in America, Bill added recipes from his home island of Thasos and opened Bill’s Greek Tavern in Jackson. It didn’t take at first, but, soon enough, orders for the house specialty — fresh seafood, coated in flour and Greek spice, and griddled in olive oil — eventually found an audience. Bill’s most famous regular was his close friend, the writer Eudora Welty, who was fond of calling the Greek Tavern the best restaurant in the world.

Bill's Greek Tavern closed in 2017.

Bill's Greek Tavern was located at 4760 McWillie Drive in Jackson
